Dear Doggie Dude Ranch,
Last month I spent two weeks on the ranch and am writing to tell you what a great time I had! My favorite hang out was in the pasture as that's when my new friend, Josie and me, chased the tennis ball. There was so much room, it seemed like we could run forever and ever. Josie is really funny, as when she gets hot she jumps in one of the water troughs to cool off. I wasn't so brave! Sometimes the ball landed near the fence by the chicken coop and it was hard to take my eyes off those chickens as they kept hitting the ground with their beaks and I couldn't help but wonder what they were sniffing for?
The trail was one of my favorite things to do as it was like a canine Internet highway with loads of smells to download and process! When it was really hot, we would stop by the creek for a drink and wander down stream a bit. Some of the smaller dogs followed along in the ATV or were carried by the counselors; they seemed to really enjoy the ride! When it rained, we played in the huge indoor arena and I just loved racing around the dirt chasing Josie and the many balls and toys that just kept flying through the air.
Once we were all tired out, we took a nap in the Dog House, which feels just like home! It has furniture, a TV and plenty of company. I was able to enjoy my own food, catered just for me, drank some water and we just hung out with the camp counselors and visitors. One warm day I rested in the shade of the barn while staff completed their chores. Then I went for a ride in the ATV when they drove hay out to the cows. It was a blast and I felt relaxed and at home. I hope my family will bring me back again real soon.
Thanks Doggie Dude Ranch!
